The City of Portland occupies the land on which the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other Original Peoples made their homes along the Nch’I-Wána (Columbia River). Capacity Bridge (CB) recognizes and honors the Original People who cared for this land long before our ancestors’ arrival and the Original People that steward this land today. CB encourages our community to learn about Portland’s Native communities and to support work that is of importance to them. A good place to begin one’s learning can be found here.
